We spent two nights at this camp site at Diamond Lake, which is about 8 hours from Crater Lake.
The first night we about froze to death but the second night was better for us.Our camp, on the East side of Diamond Lake overlooked the lake.
While at Diamond Lake we drove around the lake. When Lynn was in his early teens he camped there with the Stake. The camp site was on a small stream which fed into Diamond Lake's South side. Each ward in the stake had their own tent or two along the stream. The hole South side of the lake has been turned back to wilderness land but Lynn found what he thought was the camp site area. On thing I remember doing was having contests to see how long we could keep our hands or feet in the stream water. The water was ice cold, so I had to see if the water was still ice cold and it was!

Shirley and I decided to take a weekend trip to Crater Lake on August 31 - Sept 1, 2, 2009. We traveled lite with a tent, a little food, two sleeping bags. I took over 280 pictures. We took one hike call the Annie Creek Canyon. Length was 1.7 mile loop, elevation was 5,800 to 6,000 feet. The trail started at 6,000 elevation and dropped down to 5,800 elevation, walked along a small stream in a wonderful canyon. Near the end of the canyon Shirley spotted a mother deer with 2 young ones. They were within 20 yards of this, just on the other side of the small stream.
When we bought the travel trailer we knew our Dodge van would not be able to pull it so we had to look for a used pick-up. We found this 2003 Chev pick-up and it is in very very good condition so we now have a pick-up to pull the trailer. Lynn's retirement date has just been extended out of few more months!
